Building Generational Wealth with Assemblyman Charles D. Fall

We collaborated with Assemblyman Charles D. Fall to launch the "Building Generational Wealth Series." This initiative focused on essential topics like financial literacy and generational wealth-building. Through in-depth discussions, we explored subjects ranging from home ownership and business resources to saving strategies, understanding interest rates, the role of health, and the significance of tracking net worth. The series garnered significant community participation, showcasing our ability to engage diverse audiences effectively.

Participatory Budgeting: The People's Money

Canvas Institute actively participates in the participatory budgeting process, particularly in Cycle 1 of the CEC's Process, known as "The People's Money." Our role involves organizing idea-generation sessions where residents come together to identify community needs and brainstorm innovative project ideas. These sessions foster dialogue and collaboration among community members, leading to the development of creative proposals.

Community Engagement Events

We believe in connecting with our community through events that combine local music, culinary delights, and entertainment. These events provide opportunities for meaningful interaction and engagement. One notable event was hosted at the Snug Harbor Cultural Center, exemplifying our commitment to meeting people where they gather and offering platforms for active participation.
